"From Tree to Charcoal" is a work in the "Before Collapse" series. Through material transformation, the series examines the questions about mortality, death, and rebirth, and explores how to live in every moment of our lives. The burnt materiality of the tree in this work poetically and theatrically presents a metaphysical correlation with how we experience time passing and the cosmic cycle, both in the externally observed physical world as well as in the inner subconscious mind.
